Cleaverville Beach nature based camping

Cleaverville Beach, located 26 kilometres north-west of Karratha in Western Australia (WA), is popular for extended and overnight camping or day trips and has a number of secluded scenic sites.

Access to Cleaverville Beach in WA is via a maintained gravel road, situated only 19 kilometres from the Karratha Road turnoff. Many locals and visitors to WA are attracted to the fishing beaches in this area, particularly the mouth of Clearville Creek. A variety of marine wildlife, including turtles, can also be sighted in and around this area.

Camp for up to three months, overnight or enjoy a scenic and relaxing self drive day trip from Karratha.

Clearville Beach camping fees

All camping fees for Cleaverville Beach are to be paid in advance to the caretaker or ranger and are payable from 1 May each camping season.

The fees are as follows:

Daily: AUD 7.00

Weekly: AUD 40.00

Monthly: AUD 135.00

Camping information

  • Dogs are permitted but must be on a leash – Dog Act 1976 applies.
  • Sullage disposal is available at the 7 Mile Tip in Karratha.
  • There are no public toilets. Please take your own chemical toilet.
  • Maintain a three metre clearance between campsites.
  • Camp in existing sites. If you can’t find a site, contact the caretaker.
  • Camping is not permitted where coastal rehabilitation works have been undertaken.
  • Campers may be directed to other sites to prevent overcrowding.
  • Please be considerate when using your generator.
  • Small campfires are permitted – supply your own wood. No wood or vegetation is to be taken from Cleaverville Beach.
  • Fish for the future – respect WA’s coral reefs.
  • Rubbish bins are provided at the T-junction near the camping area.
  • Fresh water is available from Roebourne Visitor Centre.
