Take the Deep Gorge self drive day trip and discover the hidden beauty of Western Australia’s (WA) West Pilbara Coast. Once you have arrived at this spectacular location, enjoy the shaded walking trail that follows a seasonal creek through the centre of the gorge.The gorge walk is approximately three kilometres in length.

Australia’s largest collection of Aboriginal rock art (petroglyphs) is located at Deep Gorge. The ancient artifacts can be seen as you walk along the creek, etched into the rocks.

Mostly sealed/bitumen, last two and a half kilometres is corrugated gravel road

Directions from Karratha Visitor Centre

1. Follow Karratha Road towards Karratha town centre.
2. Turn left at Dampier Road.
3. Continue on Karratha Dampier Road for approximately 17 kilometres.
4. Turn right at Burrup Road (follow road for approximately six kilometres).
5. Turn right at Hearsons Cove Road.
6. Reset odometer, after two kilometres, turn right into the unmarked dirt track and follow to the small circular car park, just metres from the gorge entrance.
