Karijini self drive day trip

The Karijini National Park self drive day trip, starting from Karratha Visitor Centre on the West Pilbara Coast of Western Australia (WA), takes you on an adventurous journey through the most amazing rugged scenery. The park features stunning gorges, swimming holes and walking trails for you to explore and enjoy. Gas barbecues, water, picnic tables, toilets and an information shelter are available.

Located in the Savannah Campground area 35 kilometres from the visitor centre, Karijini Eco Retreat offers the finest up-market accommodation on the West Pilbara Coast of WA. Camping is no longer permitted at Weano and Joffre. Self registration (entrance fee applies) at the Ranger Station and the entrance to Mount Bruce Road.

Directions from Karratha Visitor Centre

1. Follow Karratha Road towards the North West Coastal Highway.
2. Turn left onto the North West Coastal Highway, follow for 60 kilometres.
3. Turn right onto Roebourne Wittenoom Road, travel 219 kilometres.
4. Turn right onto Fortescue Crossing Road, follow for 10 kilometres.
5. Turn right onto Nanutarra Wittenoom Road, follow for 41 kilometres.
6. Turn left onto Hamersley Mount Bruce Road, follow for 31 kilometres.
7. Turn left onto Karijini Drive.
8. Turn left onto Banjima Drive, follow for 28 kilometres.
9. Turn left into Joffre Road.
