Karratha Visitor Centre, on Western Australia’s (WA) West Pilbara Coast, has seen many changes in the tourism industry. Today, with the completion of the Warlu Way, new opportunities are arising for local and regional operators and businesses. Between April and October 2008, 60,000 visitors came through the doors of the Karratha Visitor Centre in search of information about tours, accommodation and things to see and do, as well as general repairs, services and supplies on WA’s West Pilbara Coast. Many more tourists and potential visitors were given information over the telephone, electronically via email or the internet and through media articles and promotional material.
